Samsung Galaxy S22 appears in live photos, S22 Ultra gets certified by FCC

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S22 series at the beginning of February, and rumors suggest that the design of the Vanilla and Plus phones is going to stay roughly the same as the Galaxy S21 series.

An actual photo of the Galaxy S22 appeared on Weibo earlier today. We would have thought it was the S21, given the similar design without the glossy rear panel; the current flagship series has a matte finish.

Meanwhile, the FCC has certified the SM-S908U smartphone, which is the Galaxy S22 Ultra (also reported being renamed), as well as an EJ-PS908 “stylus”, which is obviously a new S stylus, since the model number does not correspond to any previous Samsung product.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 will follow the design of a vertical triple camera in the upper left corner on an island connected to the frame, and the LED flash sits on the right. It could be a dummy device and not the real thing, but all clues point to a design in this direction.

Going back to the S22 Ultra, the letter U in rumors that it is called S22 Note might not be true. Still, this is far from the strongest evidence, so we’ll stay tuned and keep you updated.
